Maximalist Wallpaper combines sweeping abstract forms with layered shades of plum, lilac, ochre, turquoise, soft green and blue on a warm neutral ground. The large-scale composition has the presence of contemporary artwork, while the faded, textured finish keeps the colours surprisingly easy to live with. Designed for statement walls and generous spaces, it works beautifully with natural stone, warm wood, sculptural furniture and simple textiles.

Maximalist wallpaper has moved beyond being simply a trend. As interiors become more personal and less dependent on uniform neutral palettes, large-scale pattern is increasingly used as a way to introduce art, colour and individuality into a room. The most contemporary approach is not necessarily to fill every surface with decoration, but to let one expressive wall create the visual identity of the space.
Not necessarily. In fact, a strong pattern can give a small room more character because there is less space competing for attention. Powder rooms, entrance halls and compact bedrooms can handle surprisingly bold wallpaper, particularly when the surrounding furniture and materials are kept relatively simple. Scale matters too: a large abstract composition can sometimes feel calmer than a small, densely repeated pattern.
Start with the wallpaper rather than trying to decorate around it afterwards. Choose one or two colours from the design and repeat them selectively in furniture, textiles or objects, while allowing neutral materials to provide breathing space. Natural stone, wood, linen and textured upholstery work particularly well because they balance strong colour without competing with it. The result should feel collected rather than perfectly matched.
Large compositions need enough visual distance to be appreciated, making them particularly effective in living rooms, dining rooms, entrance halls, staircases and double-height spaces. They can also work beautifully in boutique hotels, restaurants and other hospitality interiors. On a generous wall, wallpaper like this can perform much the same role as an oversized contemporary artwork.

— Barbara & the studioNot necessarily. A paid consultation is only needed if you're after a full interior design service for your space, beyond just choosing a pattern.
Yes — ordering a sample is optional but recommended. Screen colours can differ slightly from the printed result, so a sample confirms the exact tone in your own light before you commit to the full wall.
Size is always made to your exact wall dimensions — just enter height and width. Colour customisation is available for most designs; this piece is part of our standard collection, not a limited-edition print, so recolouring is possible on request.
